The Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities is a multi-functional human services and community-focused agency providing support services across child protection, domestic and family violence, youth justice services, housing, homelessness, social inclusion, sport and active recreation, and celebrates arts, culture, heritage, libraries and archives. As a key division within the agency, the Housing team is responsible for providing services across the housing continuum that enable social and economic wellbeing and strong communities.

Reporting to the Deputy CEO Housing, the Executive Director Market Reform and Programs leads a team of 35 in the design and delivery of critical reforms to expand and diversify community housing across the Northern Territory with significant impact and involvement of Aboriginal Territorians. The Division is responsible for the implementation of the homelessness grants program, strategic programs for urban, regional and remote government employee housing, and tenancy reform.

The Community Housing Growth Strategy is a key project for the Northern Territory Government, undertaking significant sector reform to transform the way social and affordable housing is delivered in the Northern Territory.

To be successful in this role, you will possess deep experience in the provision of public and social housing services, either from a government or an NGO perspective, inclusive of a thorough appreciation of the National Regulatory System for Community Housing. Whilst operational delivery experience will be valued, strategy and policy exposure will be of prime importance.

You will also be a dynamic leader who can gauge and readily respond to the political dimension, possess system level thinking, strong collaboration skills, and a capacity building mindset when working with partner organisations. A financial perspective and an appreciation of funding sources will also be valued.
